Improving the Well-Being of Oregon’s Children

Attorney General Kroger is deeply committed to protecting and improving the lives of Oregon’s children. Unfortunately, there is a lot more work to be done. Right now there are more than 100,000 children without health insurance, and more than 140,000 who live below the poverty line. We also have a serious problem with child abuse and neglect. For these reasons, Oregon received a "D" on the latest child welfare report card issued by a leading advocacy group (read more).

To remedy this crisis, the Oregon Department of Justice will:

• Put internet sex predators and child pornographers in jail;
• Help more single parents promptly receive the child support to which they are legally entitled; and
• Fight to ensure that every Oregon child is safe from abuse and neglect.
